Uganda can be visited and anyone can drive throughout the year. Uganda being near the Equator experience the equatorial type of climate and weather which is characterized with two weather conditions/seasons throughout the year.
The two weather conditions being rainy season experiences in the months of March to May and September to November, this wet season is characterized with heavy down pour across the country and sometimes excess in the mountainous and tropics areas, but also expect sunshine can take a full day or a week without a down pour.
The dry season is experienced in the month of December to February and June to Mid – September, most time of these month is occupied by sunshine and very little rain. The dry season is the most recommended for self-drive in Uganda? Roads are dry and there are limited chances getting stuck due to poor road conditions.
Most of the places that are visited include the national safari game parks, game reserves, sanctuaries and the tourist islands like Kalangala, Samuka and Banda islands. Before, tourists have been doing self drive with the driver and stay in permanent campsites and which has been so interesting to them but today car rental agencies have upgraded from down camping to the rooftop tent camping and this always offers the wilderness stay in the parks.
