Uganda is a wonderful destination to view wildlife in both forest and Savannah. Not to be missed is gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest or Mgahinga Gorilla National Parks, while chimps can easily be spotted in Kibale Forest National Park and several other locations. Queen Elizabeth and Murchison Falls National Parks offer wonderful Savannah safaris with good wildlife viewing, as does the more remote Kidepo Valley National Park.
On this Uganda holiday with 4×4 Rooftop tent jeep you will get the best of the scenery, meet the Big5 and walk with the endangered mountain gorillas, and the chimps. You will start with rhino tracking before doing a game drive in Murchison Falls National Park.
Here you will not only seek out wildlife, but also take a cruise safari on the Nile River to Murchison Falls. You will move south to walk with chimps, and gorillas, and later the giraffes of Lake Mburo.
Today you arrive in Uganda, famously known as the Pearl of Africa because of it great diversity and beauty. Our representative and your guide will receive you at the airport and then transfer you to your accommodation.
Depending on arrival time, you can choose to walk around the laid-back city of Entebbe, or simply rest of the jet lag. You’ll be collected from the airport. Accommodation before the tour starts can be arranged for an extra cost at Karibu Guest House in Entebbe.
After breakfast, you will depart for the northern Uganda and its endless Savannah plains. First stop is at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary where you get to walk with the rhinos. The Sanctuary is a wonderful reserve located near Masindi and not too much far from Kampala and it hosts a wonderful and vaster environment that allow a symbiosis between human and natural environments and at the same time preserving the place from “invasive” human settlements.
The compound is very modest, with only the necessary (offices, accommodations for visitors and workers, a very small shop, a restaurant) and a camping site near. This is the only place in Uganda where you will find this member of the African Big Five.
The rhino are powerful majestic animals. Moving with your ranger and guide, you will get to know more about these very endangered animals. Proceed later for lunch and onto to your accommodation in Murchison Falls National Park. Accommodation at Red Chili Camp
Murchison Falls National Park is the largest park in Uganda. It is home to a wide variety of wildlife, thus giving amazing game viewing drives. Start off early so you can catch the animals at their morning meal. You may even get the chance to find hunting or feeding lions. Look out for elephants, giraffes, Jackson’s hartebeest, cape buffaloes, and if you are lucky, leopards. Leopards are shy predators and keep out of sight as much as they can.
In the afternoon continue your safari on the Nile River to the mighty Murchison falls. The hike to the falls is spectacular. Lots of stairs to climb but it’s easy when you take a break in the shade. The area at the top of the falls is cooling on a hot day. The force of the water can be intimidating but it’s very safe. Accommodation can be Red Chili Camp.
After breakfast you travel south on to Kibale National Park. It’s hard not to be impressed by Kibale’s bragging rights. This Ugandan National Park boasts the largest number of primates in Africa and is said to be the best place in the world for chimpanzee tracking. The drive will take you through beautiful landscapes along the edge of the great western rift valley. You will go past the foothills of the Rwenzori Mountains, Africa’s highest mountain range and on to your accommodation just outside the Kibale National Park. Accommodation can be at Kibale Forest Camp
