Are you planning to visit Uganda for road trip holiday in this December festival 2022? It is not yet late, and if you have just heard about Uganda through friends ask them more about how it is in Uganda to take this experience. If you don’t have friend that has been to Uganda before, I only advise you to visit the various travel online sites like trip advisor and you find so many various car rental agencies in Uganda.
Last year I and wife we wanted to spend our Christmas festival in Africa and what came first to minds was to visit the Maasai Mara in Kenya for a very affordable trip and when we were doing our planning, we found a very attractive review online praying a certain local company that with head office in Uganda but doing good services in Kenya.
When I and my wife kept on reading the comments that this past traveler did praising the chief consultant (Moses) of this company we were so interested to reach out to this guy. Just after our second reading this review again, I raised an instant what’s app call to the guy and instantly he answered and we had a very long and nice talk and since it was a video call, I would ask questions and after my wife ask but surprisingly as we asked all the questions Moses had answers to our questions.
Still in the same conversation we told Moses we have a quite long holiday and we don’t want to spent too much and he definitely told us that our company offers various services that can suit our clients and he said that if you want to take 03 – week holiday in East Africa, better I advise you take a very suitable road trip with 4×4 Rooftop tent car across East Africa – Kenya and Uganda and this is our second option experience if we could not afford the escorted tour.
Moses with his experience straight away advised how possible this could be, he told us as you want to start with Kenya definitely our jeep with the rooftop tent can be delivered to you in Kenya – Nairobi and then you take your drive to Maasai Mara and then to Uganda.
With this option we discussed the fares and for the jeep from Uganda to Kenya we had to meet the logistics and then in the discussion of the cost for the car and driver for a day it was moderate at 155$ US and then we had to buy fuel for the entire holiday.
Later on we add to review our travel plan and we found this option so affordable and suitable to our travel and on our arrival to Kenya we found our driver waiting for us at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and then straight away we drove to Masai Mara and our first eat out lunch place was at Dream King Restaurant in Narok and later we continued to Maasai Mara for our evening game drive and it was so amazing and then with our rooftop tent vehicle and driver stayed at the relatively very accommodative Lenchada Mara Camp with good services.
Our stay in Mara was of about 05/day and 04/nights and all times we experienced various game drives and so much wildlife was spotted and then in the evening visited to the Maasai warriors’ villages.
Thereafter, exploring a bit the Mara we continued to Uganda via Kisumu – Malaba and we had a night in Kisumu at one of the beaches – Dunga beach a hidden treasure gem in Kisumu. Later on, we traveled to Jinja – Uganda and here we spent some good time exploring more that this tourism city has to offer to the international tourists.
With our flexible guide we discussed various activities to take and with his experience we did as many as we did like the white-water rafting, visit to the Busowoko falls, source of the Nile boat cruise and lastly staying at the Nile River Explorer we enjoyed the water sliding and the Nile beer while tubing.
Then from Jinja we wanted to see how the capital city of this country “Kampala” look like and then with our 2 nights in this city we visited the man-made King’s Lake, the Palace and knowing more about the culture of this indigenous and biggest tribe in Uganda.
Still on our stay in Kampala we managed to meet Moses and while talking to this guy you that safari is summarized and meeting him, we again tailored our trip and loved the more and nice description he did towards the Murchison Falls National Park and the Kalangala Islands at the end of our visit to Uganda.
With our guide we left the Kampala backpackers in the morning at round 08 Am and we took scenic drive to Murchison Falls National Park and, on the way, we took the en-route visit to the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary where we had close view of the white rhinos and after we had lunch. After all this we drove through the Budongo forest to the park and our 03 nights were experienced at the grounds of the Red Chill Camp.
In our conclusion our road trip holiday was so amazing visiting Kenya Mara and the undulating side of Uganda. After the Murchison we drove down fort portal and here our interest was visiting the beautiful crater lakes and landscapes. From the crater lakes you will have the scenic view of the Rwenzori contour cones and why not see the beautiful Amabere Ga Nyinamwiru (Staltites and Stalagmites).
Other areas of spot were the Semliki where we found the hot springs and the history here come with your raw egg and from this place it will be boiled and eaten now and then.
Therefore, if you are looking the best self-drive road trip expedition across East Africa get in touch with 4×4 Car Hire Uganda and they will advise and tailor make for you the best route and providing the suitable and well maintained 4×4 jeep with rooftop tent that will ease your accommodation any where you would like to stay including in the wilderness!
