Car rental and safari driver guide in Uganda is awesome! When you rent a car and driver in Uganda is becomes much easier for you to explore Uganda’s tourist destinations like parks, reserves, sanctuaries, landscapes and beautiful landscapes.
This summer I and my wife we started planning our road trip safari to Uganda and we arranged it well with the 4×4 Car Hire Uganda and the travel expert of this agency “Mike” is so knowledgeable regarding Uganda tourism. At first we wanted to go with 4×4 Rav4 which was so affordable but since we were on a long rental trip we wanted the better comfortable 4×4 rooftop tent jeep, and when we over visited their online page we found that they had other vehicles to go on this rough road trip like the Land Cruiser Prado and GX.
During the process of arranging this Uganda holiday we exchanged so many emails with Mike and what we asked this guy had an answer to it and he was so advisable on the type of the 4×4 safari jeep to take based on our budget and we we took the 4×4 Land Cruiser Prado TZ and it was so comfortable and suitable for our holiday. We finished our planning and later sent the money of the gorilla and chimps permits to Mike on the company account and he secured for us the permits at no extra cost.
The 4×4 Rooftop tent jeep cost @80$ US and for more information contact
Very excited ready to come Uganda smile was on our face and early evening we left our home start destination to the airport and fly to Entebbe but with some of uncertainties our flight to Entebbe was delayed and our driver/guide Emma was patiently waiting for us. Upon arrival we so hungry and after meeting Emma our first question was whether he knew a very good restaurant such that we can have something to eat and processed.
From the variety of good restaurants in Entebbe we chose to go to 4 Points Restaurant and we had our hot nice and tasty lunch. Seated together with Emma while having our lunch he was so entertaining and explaining to us the beautiful Uganda and famously known as “Pearl of Africa”. Later, we embarked our spacious and customized safari jeep to Jinja and though we had booked our local lodge in via booking.com we reached at the place and it was so local where by we didn’t have something to eat at night and Emma sleeping in the kitchen as they are not organized to have the guides rooms.
Then on the second day after our rafting experience Emma advised us to sleep at the Nile River Explorer Camp that had taken us for the rafting experience, though we had paid the second night to this previous camp we had to give up and have another overnight stay at Explorers Camp. Then in the morning after breakfast, we took the water sliding experience which is a compliment when you stay at the Explorer Camp. After this experience we drove towards Eastern Uganda, Sipi Falls in Mount Elgon National Park and upon arrival we checked in at Sipi River Lodge.
We spent our evening with Peter visiting the nearby local communities and experiencing the coffee tour and the daily day life of the local Ugandans. The green environment in the region is so awesome to stay. The welcoming faces of the locals makes feels at home.
Early morning breakfast, after we visited to the Sipi Falls and this so amazing falls in the area and here we didn’t take much time and then we drove to Moroto with en-route visit to Pian Upe Game Reserve and expect to spot African wildlife, birds and then the undulating green landscapes. Later, we had our lunch and overnight at the Kara-tunga Camp. While at this camp you experience more about the people in the region and from Emma’s experience gained from their Karamoja routes they sale to tourists yearly like Karamoja Trail & Gorilla Safari 14 Day and Karamoja Culture Wildlife Trip 10 Day he gave us more interesting Karamoja highlights and with this camp we arranged 01 night stay in the one of the interesting families and in the night we had an amazing goat roasting.
Therefore, if you are interested in any of the mentioned Karamoja safari itineraries contact us for more details of the trip.
Later, experiencing the lifestyle of the Karamojong we drove to interesting and big local village “Nakapelimuro” Village in Kaabong District and with our guide Sam we visited and we experienced the life style of this village and when we talked to the chief he told us that the community lack a lot of social and economical basics and when tourists visit they get some living from the pay we make and their life of living is based on agriculture. Today, after this visit we drove to Kaabong Resort for overnight stay.
Thereafter, we visited the not to be missed Uganda Park and this is none other than Kidepo Valley National Park famously known for the beautiful undulating landscapes and the high population and rare interesting wildlife. Here we stayed our 2 nights at Kidepo Savannah Lodge and safari tents are so spacious and comfortable with the awesome scenic view of the park’s buffer zones. Kidepo Valley National Park if you are cruising a 4×4 rooftop tent jeep you can suitable camp inside the park at the Apoka Rest Camp or Kakine Campsites and you can do game drives any time possible to your wish.
Since we were on an 03 weeks safari itinerary we concluded our route with the Murchison Falls National Park and from Kidepo Valley National Park we drove to Murchison via Pakwach highway and entering the park via the Tangi gate and as soon as we entered we started our game drive towards the southern part of the park. We checked various tracks and more wildlife species were spotted and we arrived at Pakuba Lodge around 19:00PM.
Then the next day we took an early game drive looking for the early riser and nocturnal animals like Leopards, Lions among others. This game drive took us like 3 – 4 hours looking for the African Big5 and other wildlife species and birdlife. After the game drive we went back to the lodge for the hot sweet mouth lunch and then in the afternoon we drove towards the shores River Nile for the interesting boat cruise at the banks of the River. On this drive we managed to spot more wildlife and birds that we missed on the game drive. Then our overnight stay at the Murchison River Lodge safari tents.
Last but not least on our ending day after breakfast, we jumped into our safari jeep and drove back to Kampala with the en-route visit to the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for the Rhino tracking and then lunch. Drive again back to the Gulu – Kampala highway and continue to Entebbe and since our flight was in the morning our travel expert managed to secure for us a room at Cycads Guest House, Entebbe and transfer fares to the airport at $70 US with breakfast.
In conclusion, I want to recommend all travelers to Uganda always book with 4×4 Car Hire Uganda and sincerely speaking we thought we could go on camping in basic non-self contained tents but this car rental agency has got good lodge compliments and they can suitably offer you a very affordable and reliable self drive or Chauffeur Driven jeeps and lodge services.
